ATHENS, Ohio – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech men’s hockey team saw its 11-game win streak end Friday as it lost to No. 8-ranked Ohio, 6-3, inside Bird Ice Arena.
Francesco Corona, Cameron Wirick and Ryan Attwood scored in the loss while Ryan O’Toole made 40 saves.
The Warriors jumped on the Bobcats in the opening period as Corona netted his 10th goal of the season 49 seconds into the game while Wirick made it a 2-0 game five minutes later. Attwood answered Ohio’s first goal of the night with 12 second left in the second to give Tech a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of action.
The hosts exploded for five goals in the final 20 minutes of play, scoring three within the first four minutes of the period to take a 4-3 lead. Ohio made it a 5-3 game with nine minutes left to play while they sealed the game with their sixth goal of the night with 30 seconds left in the contest.
Tech (15-3-0) concludes their fall semester schedule at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Ohio from Bird Ice Arena.
