Catalyst Exhibits renovates BGCK teen center tech lab - Kenosha News

Teens at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha have a new and improved technology lab thanks to Catalyst Exhibits.

After touring the club in the spring, employees knew they wanted to help with a hands-on project, and thought the technology lab was a great fit for a community project.

Designers met with club staff to talk about needs and wants for the space, both visually and functionally.

Together, Catalyst Exhibits and BGCK staff decided to create a space with an open concept that felt like a lounge.

Catalyst Exhibits donated its design time, signs, furniture and installation. The BGCK maintenance team installed new flooring and gave the room a fresh coat of paint.

“When presented with the opportunity to help the BGCK, Catalyst didn’t hesitate,” said Catalyst Exhibits President Tim Roberts.

“We want to see our community excel and grow, and one way to see that happen is to get involved to help make a greater impact.

“We’re glad we were able to come together to make the Tech Lab a fun and cool environment for the youth in the community to do their homework, surf the web, and connect with each other.”

The room was unveiled to teen members and began being used on Monday.

“The teens have been looking forward to the reopening of the tech lab,” said BGCK Director of Teen Services Jason Justus. “With the added space, décor and equipment, members will be able to use the lab for homework, school projects and club programming.”
